After a long drive, we were pleasantly greeted by an attentive staff and we enjoyed our accessible room. The room was huge and appointed with a lot of thoughtful details. The view from this hotel, situated high on a hill overlooking Mansfield and the surrounding countryside, is a lovely perk to staying here. Town is just a minute away and we found some favorite restaurants we have revisited.
First the positive. The room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. Now for the negative. The night reception desk clerk was strangely off-putting. We were given a handicapped room with a wall less than 4 feet from the window...and the hotel was not crowded and we were not handicapped. The door handle would not open correctly when the keycard was used, which the clerk mentioned. The room was badly lit especially considering there was very little light coming in from the window. Some of the amenities in the bathroom were missing, and the toilet paper roll had only a few sheets left on it. My husband was ill during the night and when I went to ask for more toilet paper in the morning a housekeeper was supposed to bring some. I had to return to the desk a second time in order to finally get a roll. Many small things that were not up to the standard of other Hampton Inn hotels. The morning desk clerks were sweet and understood my annoyance.
Very nice hotel, we enjoyed our stay while visiting PA grand canyon and potter tioga forest. I was surprised to learn the hotel was 9 years old. It looked like new. Kudos to the staff on keeping the property clean and beautiful like new even after 9 years.
